Montgomery County Sustainability News, or MoCo-Sustain.com, is a community resource for residents of Montgomery County, Maryland.
At MoCo-Sustain.com, we believe our county should have a local daily news outlet covering the environmental sustainability issues, problems and solutions that affect all our lives. So, we created this Website, which includes robust listings of local environmental events and links to important community resources, as well as the latest news.
Study Global, Act Local
Our county’s environmental sustainability is impacted by natural occurences around the world. It also is affected by the discoveries, decisions and actions of researchers, businesses, governments, non-governmental organizations and individuals within and outside county borders. As a reflection of that interconnectedness, MoCo-Sustain.com publishes selected news from around the region, nation and sometimes the world that has great potential to impact our sustainability here at home.

About the Editor
Dan Rudt, editor of MoCo-Sustain.com, has been a resident of Montgomery County, Maryland since 1988. Dan earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from Arizona State University, after which he worked at Washington, DC radio station WPGC-AM (then Business Radio 1580) as a news anchor and host of a weekly public affairs talk program, “Dan Rudt’s Washington Forum.” Through much of the 1990s, he worked for the Mutual Broadcasting System and NBC Radio Networks, both owned by Westwood One, producing talk and public affairs programs airing on hundreds of stations around the United States.
Aside from broadcasting, Dan has held management positions for Bread & Circus Natural Foods Supermarkets, business development director for the National Grocers Association, sales and marketing director for the International Society for Performance Improvement, and national sales manager for association clients of The Townsend Group.
The launch of MoCo-Sustain.com marks Dan’s return to news and public affairs.
